  4. Account orders are placed in a queue and are processed in the order in which they are received. (No Longer Then 24 Hours) Your site can be uploaded to our servers immediately after receiving the welcome email, which will contain the address for your account, plus the password and username. In fact, we recommend that clients start uploading their site as soon as possible after setup is complete.

  5. Do I have access to update my site 24 hours a day?

  7. I want to transfer my domain name. How do I go about doing that?

    ou will need to log into your account with your registrar and point the nameservers towards the DNS servers.

    The Primary DNS Server is: NS1.NVGHOSTING.COM
    The Secondary DNS Server is: NS2.NVGHOSTING.COM

    If you feel uncomfortable doing this just use the support form (for secure submission) with your registrars account information and also the name of the registrar. Full propagation usually takes 24-72 hours.

  11. I see some hosts offering "unlimited bandwidth". Why don't you offer this?

  12. Technically speaking, there is no such thing as "unlimited bandwidth". Someone has to pay for the traffic somewhere - and if you check the fine print of some service agreements from companies who claim to offer unlimited bandwidth, you'll probably find that they do charge for traffic over a certain amount. We dispense with the fine print.

Technical Questions

  1. I changed my control panel password and now I can't get in.

  2. Passwords are case sensitive and are limited to 8 characters. If you entered a password longer than 8 characters please try entering the first 8 characters when logging into your control panel. If you still can't access your Admin page use the support form and we will reset your password.

  3. How do I get my email?

  4. For web based email you can use Squirrel Mail Or if you're familiar with your email client's setup, use the following information to retrieve email from your POP account:

  5. I want to get started right away, but my domain name hasn't transferred/isn't in the database yet. How do I do it?

  6. You can upload your page(s) immediately by pointing your FTP client to the made-name address you were assigned when you opened your account. After your domain is fully propagated through the system, (usually 24-72 Hours) you can upload to ftp.yourdomain.com.

  9. Where should I put CGI scripts for my domain?

  10. All CGI scripts should be uploaded to the cgi-bin folder,located under the www folder, for your domain. Be sure to follow the instructioins for the script you are uploading regarding setting permissions on the files and folders you create, as they vary from script to script

  11. I uploaded my files, but I don't see my page?

  12. If our default "Welcome to your New Web Site!", index.html, has not been replaced by another index page, then anyone going to domainname.com will still see that page instead of some other home page. This is the order in which the web server looks for a page to put up as the "home" page: DirectoryIndex default.htm index.phtml index.pht index.cgi index.shtml index.html welcome.cgi welcome.html index.htm Just delete the index.html file and anything after it in this list will then come up automatically. Notice that "home.html" is NOT on the list and so will not show up as your home page. You would need to rename it. Any file that you want to be seen on the internet should be kept in the var/www/html directory.

Account and Billing Questions

  1. Can I upgrade my plan or features later?

  2. You can purchase new or expanded features, or upgrade to a new plan. To do so simply Purchase the new plan and then log into your Paypal account and discontinue the plan you are not using.

    Make sure to purchase the new plan before closing the old plan or we will think you are canceling your service.

    There is no set up fee for upgrading.

  5. What happens if I go over the bandwidth limit for my account?

  6. If you exceed the bandwidth limit for your account you will be notified by email and at that time will have the option to upgrade your plan or purchase more bandwidth at $2 per gigabyte per month.

  7. What is the cost for additional features?

  8. You can add additional features to the plan that you signed up for. Below are the rates for some commonly added features. 

    Disk space - $2 per 200meg per month. 

    Bandwidth - $3 per 10gigabyte per month

  9. How do I cancel my Account?

  10. You can cancel your account at any time by contacting the sales department. To contact the sales department just use the Contact us form and request that your account be terminated. There are no cancellation fees, and no notice is required. Any fees paid to that point are non-refundable. Please see our Acceptable Use Policy for further information.
